What We Believe As A Church at Walk of Grace Chapel

Welcome to Walk of Grace Chapel! We’re a Bible-believing Christian church in Council Bluffs, Iowa, passionate about sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with the world—starting right here in the Council Bluffs/Omaha area.

This page outlines what we believe as a church. If you’re looking for a clear Christian statement of faith, or wondering what our church teaches, we hope this helps you understand the heart of our message.

The Gospel – Our Core Belief

At the center of everything we teach is the Gospel—the message that even though we’ve all sinned and fallen short of God’s perfect standard, God still loves us deeply. He sent His Son, Jesus Christ, to take the punishment for our sins by dying on the cross. But Jesus didn’t stay dead—He rose again three days later, proving His victory over sin and death.

Anyone who believes in Jesus, accepts His sacrifice, and confesses Him as Lord is saved and receives the free gift of eternal life.

A Personal Relationship with God

We believe salvation is not the end of the story—it’s the beginning of a relationship. God doesn’t want blind obedience; He desires closeness with us. Through faith in Christ, we are drawn into a deeper relationship with our Creator, where we learn to know and love Him more.

A New Identity in Christ

We believe that when someone is saved, they are spiritually made new. The old, sinful nature is crucified with Christ, and we are given a new nature, dead to sin and alive to God. We become part of the Body of Christ—His Church—and are spiritually united with other believers.

Our Statement of Faith – What We Believe as a Christian Church

We are evangelical fundamentalists. That means we believe:

  • The Bible is 100% accurate and fully inspired by God.

  • Jesus is the only way to Heaven—salvation is by grace through faith in Him alone.

  • God exists in three persons: the Father, the Son (Jesus), and the Holy Spirit.

  • Jesus was born of a virgin, lived a sinless life, died for our sins, rose again, and now intercedes for us in Heaven.

  • Adam and Eve were real people, and sin entered the world through Adam’s disobedience.

  • Jesus is God—eternally existing before, during, and after His time on earth.

  • The return of Christ is coming: First in the rapture, then His visible return to establish His kingdom.

  • A future reign of 1,000 years (the Millennium) will follow His return, ending with the final defeat of Satan and the eternal reign of God’s Kingdom.

The Gifts and Power of the Holy Spirit

We believe in the ongoing work of the Holy Spirit in the life of the believer.

The Greatest Commandments

Jesus taught that the entire Law is fulfilled in two great commandments:

  1. Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind, and strength.

  2. Love your neighbor as yourself.

We believe these commands are foundational—and failing to live by them is the greatest sin.

Rooted in God’s Word

We believe in careful study and application of Scripture. We strive to base every teaching on the Bible and encourage believers to seek God’s help in understanding His Word.

We invite you to worship, learn, and grow with us. If you’re looking for a church in Council Bluffs that is grounded in the Bible and full of grace, we’d love for you to visit!
