Joy Cometh In The Morning

I had this on our old website, and I think it’s time that it got put on this one, too.

Psalm 30:5
weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning.

From the sermon on December 30, 2007

There was the Red Sea, then there was the passage. Why? Because weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning!

There were the walls of Jericho, but then they laid flat. Why? Because weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning!

There was the lion in the path of Sampson, then there was honey. Why? Because weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning!

There was the giant in the face of little David, then there was the victory. Why? Because weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning!

There were the prison cells and shackles, then Paul and Silas saw an open door. Why? Because weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning!

There were the dead dried up bones that the prophet Ezekiel saw, but now there is modern-day Israel, because the bones lived again. Why? Because weeping may endure for a night, but joy cometh in the morning!

There is a small congregation on Avenue F that is simply not growing, then…. dare we believe? How dare we not?!?
